GOODCalc, Now Accepting Bad Data

Posted by Tim Freund Thu, 30 Nov 2006 07:32:07 GMT

The GOODCalc of 15 minutes ago didn't handle invalid input very well. This should be fixed now, in two ways:

  • More variations in data are now accepted. For instance, $1,000.00 is now a valid monetary amount, and 3.4% is a valid APR. Previously only 1000.00 and 3.4 would have worked.
  • Friendly error messages are now given when the program doesn't understand your input. Previously a programmer's stack trace was displayed. Those stack traces confuse people like my mom.

So what are you waiting for? Prove me wrong and find more bugs in GOODCalc, but only if you promise to tell me about your experience here either with a comment or a trackback. :-)
